GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Applicator used for quick and easier placement of elastic ligatures on all styles and sizes of edgebands

The elastic explorer is a tool specifically designed to facilitate the placement of elastic ligatures on edge supports in orthodontics. Its main objective is to streamline the ligature application process and ensure quick and accurate placement. The elastic explorer usually has an ergonomic and lightweight design so that it is easy to handle and maneuver in the patient's mouth. It is composed of a comfortable, non-slip handle, which allows a firm grip during the procedure.

At one end of the explorer is a V-shaped slot or opening that acts as a receptacle to hold the elastic. This slot is usually adjustable in size to accommodate different styles and sizes of edgebanders. Some explorers may have multiple slots of different sizes for added versatility. To use the elastic explorer, place the end with the slot around the desired edge support and stretch the elastic with the other hand. The end of the elastic is then inserted into the slot and the tension is gradually released, allowing the elastic to engage the edge support. Once the elastic is well positioned, the explorer is removed.
