A syringe is an instrument used in dentistry to administer local anesthesia precisely and efficiently. It is designed to contain a small amount of local anesthetic. The syringe is similar in structure to a conventional syringe, but has some additional features. At its front end, it has a hollow tip or needle and allows the local anesthetic to flow. Surrounding the needle is a cylinder that contains a plunger that moves back and forth to deliver the fluid.
